GOP Stunned As Candidate PROVES He’s Pro-Guns…Right In The Middle Of The Conference Room

The Second Amendment is one of the most important additions to the United States Constitution. This is because the right to bear arms makes it possible for people to protect themselves and their loved ones from dangerous criminals. Despite this, numerous lawmakers continue to try and pass legislation making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to buy and own firearms.

Fortunately, many Republicans running in 2018, such as Roy Moore (R-AL), a former Alabama Supreme Court Justice currently running for a seat in the United States Senate, understand the importance of the Second Amendment. When asked about his views on guns during a recent GOP meeting, More proved that he supports the right to bear arms by pulling a firearm out of his wife’s purse.

According to reports, while speaking to colleagues at a Chambers County Republican Club’s candidate meeting in Alabama earlier this week, Moore was asked about his view on the Second Amendment. “We carry,” replied Moore, who then reached into his wife’s purse and pulled out a snub-nosed revolver, causing some to laugh and several to gasp in surprise. “I will uphold the Second Amendment,” he added as he handed the firearm back to his wife to put away.

Moore’s support of the right to bear arms is not surprising. Earlier this year, he released a video on Facebook speaking about why he supports the Second Amendment. “I think people need to learn the words of the Bill of Rights. ‘A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed,’” stated Moore.

“I think our forefathers learned the lesson the hard way. When people are without guns, without weapons, they can’t defend themselves. They can’t defend themselves from internal strife. They can’t defend themselves from foreign enemies,” he added, noting, “one of the reasons our country has been so strong and is so strong is because people do have weapons and they can defend themselves if there was an attack on our country.”

Prior to running for Congress, Moore was the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Back in 2016, however, he was suspended for the remainder of his term, which ended in 2019, for directing probate judges to continue enforcing the state’s ban on same-sex marriage despite the fact that the Supreme Court overturned such laws. Following a failed appeal, he decided to resign and run for Senate.

One of Moore’s most vocal supporters is the actor and martial artist Chuck Norris, who is best known for his role as Walker Texas Ranger. “Judge Roy Moore is the real deal: He’s tough, tested, and has a spine of steel,” claimed Norris.

“Judge Moore has never backed down from standing for what is right, and that’s exactly what he’ll do in the U.S Senate,” he continued, adding, “Alabama needs Judge Moore there doing what he’s always done: fighting to protect our constitutional rights to life, religious liberty, and the freedom to protect ourselves and our families. And he will always put principle over politics.”

Unsurprisingly, Moore was extremely grateful for Norris’ endorsement. Specifically, he said, “Chuck Norris is exactly the kind of guy you want on your side and I’m honored to have his support as we continue this fight to take our Alabama values to Washington.”

Tim Macy, the Chairman of Gun Owners of America (GOA), has also come out in support of Moore. “Judge Moore has long been an articulate, and uncompromising, champion for gun rights,” stated Macy.

After receiving GOA’s support, Bill Armistead, Moore’s campaign chairman, told reporters, “having the support of Gun Owners of America and the 1.5 million members and activists they represent is just the latest example of the conservative grassroots coming together to support Judge Moore.” He added, “we need a champion for Alabamians in the Senate, not someone who will be a yes man for the failed leadership of Mitch McConnell.”

Hopefully, Moore manages to do well during the 2018 midterm elections. If he wins, it’s likely that he’ll be an ardent defender of the Second Amendment.
