President Trump made a surprise announcement today when he repealed the section of Obamacare which forces employers to provide birth control to their workers, even when it goes against their religious convictions.
Calling it a big win for religious freedom, advocates complained that it was unfair for private employers to be left with no choice but to subsidize abortion and birth control pills.
Woman’s rights groups were vocal in their opposition, calling it “yet another blow against women from the Trump administration.”
The move fulfills one of Trump’s most controversial campaign promises, which gave feminist groups political ammo against the candidate. But most Americans agreed – no one should be forced to go against their religious convictions in order to provide benefits to their employees.
“The United States has a long history of providing conscience protections in the regulation of health care for entities and individuals with objections based on religious beliefs or moral convictions.”
The new policy takes effect IMMEDIATELY, and it allows almost any employer to claim a religious or moral exemption from the onerous Obamacare birth control mandates.
In the face of the Senate’s failure to act, President Trump is looking out for Christian business owners!
